In 1995 while on a trip to Taos, New Mexico I visited a store that sold drums and flutes. The beauty of the woodwork in the flutes captivated me. I picked on up and began to play and became lost in a melody of uniqueness. Thus began my journey with the Native American Flute. Upon my return home I researched a many information sources on the Native American Flute, as I was interested in creating my own masterpiece. I ordered numerous books and tools and after 10 years, I have honed my skills as a flute maker. Each flute is unique and made slowly as the process is very detailed. I constantly search for new woods as different woods make variances in tone. My favorite is cedar, but I have used wood from as far away as Nova Scotia, Canada. |
